About the Stylist

Dionne Tonkins better known as Dee aka HairDEEni, was born and raised in Hampton, VA. She started braiding hair at age 12. She attended Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC and received her B.S. in Business Administration. While in college, she did hair in the dorms. During a football game, she met her stylist & mentor Aaliyah Qaadir. She became Aaliyah's assistant off and on for a few years before becoming a Licensed Natural Hair Care Specialist in NC. She then became as a full time stylist for 6 years in Fayetteville, NC before moving to Charlotte, NC. After a couple years of being in Charlotte, Dee started back in the salons as a part time stylist, but now a full time stylist with over 15 years of experience. She is a Certified Microloc Specialist (AMP), Licensed Natural Hair Care Specialist, and Master Braider.
